Awhile back my family struggled with a very common American issue, being overweight. It affected many family activities such as swimming, sports, or even just going out for a night together. I began to think, “Hmm, if this is an issue within my household, it must also be in others’ as well…” The thought kind of haunted me. How could so many “free” Americans be enslaved to themselves by their weight? It definitely is not the way I wanted my family to live, and I’m sure it’s not the way you want your family to live.

When I took it into my own hands to figure out a quick fat loss method for my family, I began to realize it’s a lot crazier and difficult “out there”. So many people threw stuff in my face– all these “fast track to fat loss” and “rapid fat loss” diet plans. But none really suited the personalities of my family. I wasn’t about to throw a program at my family and watch them fail– We needed something a little more comprehensive and in depth. It wasn’t until last year that I found the perfect solution, and made 2012 truly a year of accomplishment– for us all:)

We were all pretty excited when we began the program. Like I said earlier, our goals were much different from each others’. I was doing to program to maintain a healthy body since I was involved in sports. My parents were doing it for fat weight loss, and my aunts and uncles were doing it just to find a healthy diet. So it all reality, it suited every individual and their needs. Now, don’t get me wrong… just like any diet plan, there was some adjusting some of us made, but the program allowed for it:)

Practically everyone knows the steps to losing weight- Exercise more and eat less. Sounds pretty simple right? But in reality, the demands of life make it anything but simple. Everyone wants a quick fat loss diet plan, or to take the fast track to fat loss; but sometimes it’s a lot more complex than that.

Here are some weight loss tips that will really help you get in the mindset of successful dieting and quick fat loss:

Tip #1: Drink an appropriate amount of water and other calorie-free beverages.

Hunger is often times confused with thirst. Instead of chowing down on an unneeded meal, try grabbing some fruit or vegetable juice.

“If you don’t like plain water, try adding citrus or a splash of juice, or brew infused teas like mango or peach, which have lots of flavor but no calories,” says Cynthia Sass, RD, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.

Tip #2: Be very picky about your nighttime snacks!

You usually begin mindlessly eating after dinner, or in the evening. Eating without limitation will not help with quick fat loss.


Tip #3: Decide if you’re really hungry

When you think you’re hungry, look for physically signs- not just mental/emotional.

After eating you should feel energized and rejuvenated- not bloated and tired.


Tip #4: Instead of thinking of all the things you must take away from your diet, think of all the things you can add!

A great start is getting the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

Over eating is much less likely because fruits and veggies actually displace fat. They also help to prevent diseases with the phytochemicals that are found in them!

It wasn’t too long ago that I was looking for the right, healthy diet for myself and my family. The biggest problem I faced was finding the right program for belly fat loss. It wasn’t until after my mom expressed her desire in creating a healthier family that I began really looking. When it truly came down to it, no one wants to give up their daily habits and lifestyles just like that. It’s a bigger commitment than most people actually realize! Many people try things like the HCG diet, detox diet, lemon diet, and more– in fact, that’s what my mom was really into for a long time. My family really isn’t the type to just drop pizza like yesterday’s old news, so none of those diets really suited our needs. The obesity rate is increasing at great lengths; more than one-third of adults in the U.S. (35.7%) are obese.
